TaiChi Easy Workshop in Carpinteria

In February I had the privilege of attending a workshop in Carpinteria, California to become a TaiChi Easy Practice Leader.

There I met 22 students with diverse backgrounds and one drive and heart beat: to help others heal themselves by awakening the “healer within”. There is so much that can be done to improve health before taking drugs or submitting to surgery. Don’t get me wrong, our medical system is amazing and absolutely life-saving, but usually as a last resort. Tai chi and Qigong teach concepts that help people heal from diseases where there is no good pharmaceutical or surgical answer.

At the conference we were graced with four wonderful teachers: Jessica Kolbe, Roxanne, Josie, and Andrew- I honor how they worked to impart to us. We also had an unprecedented visit from the founder of TaiChi Easy, Roger Jahnke, who led us in five forms. See below!

The lessons included a lot of Qigong techniques that were not new to me, but they enforced what I know to be effective in helping people improve their health.

The TaiChi Easy Practice Leader is taught to draw from 4 main baskets for elements to include in classes:
1-Breathing techniques
2-Self Massage
3-Meditation
4-Gentle movement (this includes the Tai chi forms)

New to me was the slow moving graceful Tai chi forms. We were only taught five forms, but that was plenty for a weekend. A few times moving in sync with the group has made me an addict. I want more! These five forms, if practiced, bring a peaceful calm and help with flexibility, neurological adaptability, and physical strength.

I have started slowly introducing some of these movements into the Qigong classes we already have going. I am also introducing some more breathing, self-massage, and meditation techniques. Come join us and experience the flow!
